Following up to Sandra’s post on “Can’t Hardly Wait”, one of my favorite movies is Eurotrip. It has the same feel as “Can’t Hardly Wait” because it is about some kids that are just leaving High School, but it is much more out of control with the situations they get into.
If you can imagine the average American High School kid going on a trip to Europe by themselves, you can imagine the stories that would follow. In fact this movie always reminds me of our former neighbor’s son who went on a senior trip to Europe. One of their stops was Amsterdam and his mom was a chaperone. In one area of the city they were walking down the street and turned a corner where a local shop had a few naked manequines in the window because they were changing the clothing on them. Well Steven freaked out as he turned the corner because he thought he saw a few naked women in the window and his mom is still laughing about it today!
My favorite scene is where Scotty tells his friend Cooper that his German pen-pal is not a guy named Mike, like they thought, but a really good looking girl named Mieke and that he had just taken Cooper’s advice and sent her an email saying, “Keep your hands off my genetals, you sick German freak!” and Cooper says, “Well knowing what we know now, that seems like exactly the opposite of what you want.”
This movie is a little more “mature” than “Can’t Hardly Wait” but it should also be on your movie list because it is absolutely hilarious! It also has a scene with Matt Damon that you won’t forget. Here’s the movie trailer:
