The Junior League had its annual gala and Chris and I went this year. We usually have to work when they have it but this year we got the night off. It was at the History Center and the weather was perfect.
Our only problem was we hadn’t slept much on our red-eye flight and we had been working ever since we got home. We were too tired to dance, but we did enjoy the food and the auction (I didn’t win any auctions this time). Here are some shots from the night:
We walked around the history center, and we saw a display about John Young. We used to live in an apartment off John Young Parkway – so this was good history! John Young was chosen by NASA as an astronaut!
The Gators were winning, and we decided to call it a night early. We had a shoot all day the next day and we needed some sleep. It was just after 10pm and we were driving on a one way road downtown. Funny, I HATE driving my car downtown – the people out on the weekends scare me since they are all most likely pre-partying before they go out. Good thing we didn’t take my car to the gala! We were on this one way road in the left lane with a car on our right. As we crossed through a green-light intersection, we heard a loud noise – I asked Chris “did we just get hit?” since it could have been a nasty pothole. Then we noticed the car on our right was now turning left on the road we just crossed. He had clipped us! We pulled over to survey the damage. It wasn’t bad – a scratch of red paint on the truck’s bumper. We went to go chase the guy down, but he came back and said “sorry, that was my fault” and he has this awful looking red Eclipse. His car was missing side mirrors and had huge dents all over it. Chris told the guy not to worry about it since we really didn’t have any damage. Again, good thing I wasn’t driving my car! There would have been a report on the news “Woman attacks man for hitting her new car” or something like that.
Here is the damage:
