It is so much fun to be living in Washington, DC with an inauguration happening in just a few days. There are “58th Presidential Inauguration No Parking” signs all around town and it makes me smile! I know this has been a polarizing election (many presidential elections are but whew – this town is fired up!) but I am still excited and I would be excited no matter who was voted into office.
The other day an inauguration practice happened over at the US Capitol. I enjoyed looking at the photos of the stand-ins – many were laughing and smiling while they were stand-ins for dignitaries. But my favorite photos were the ones of the stand-ins for President Elect Trump and Melania. The woman standing in for Melania is sharp! She is dressed so nicely – wearing heels, a dress, earrings and makeup. She takes pride in the way she looks – especially knowing she is standing in for the soon to be First Lady. And the stand-in for Karen Pence is dressed so nicely, too.
Then I saw the photos of the stand-in for Hillary Clinton. I couldn’t believe it – she looked like she just rolled out of bed! She is in yoga pants, Uggs and a tired looking fleece jacket. She is wearing no makeup and it looks like she didn’t even wash her hair that day – let alone blow it out. I thought it was interesting.
If I knew I was a stand-in for someone at the inauguration practice I would do my best to look my best!
